Upgrading the telephone infrastructure of a branch network

Missions

Setec has assigned a Project Manager with expertise in complex IP telephony infrastructures.

The Société Générale bank branch network has been equipped with a centralised ALCATEL OXE ToIP infrastructure (18 clusters, 18 SIP trunks, voice transport over the WAN) offering advanced features: intelligent call routing, recording of certain communications, call-taking statistics, voice mail, local gateway for faxes, etc.

The project involves upgrading this infrastructure to adapt to technological developments and agency requirements.

The project manager will oversee the implementation of the “Branch Network Telephony” project plan for the years 2016-2018:

  • Eliminating the encryption of certain communications
  • Deployment of SIP trunking
  • OXE migration to software version R11.1
  • Virtualisation of central infrastructures (90 servers)
  • Implementation of new intelligent call handling scripts
  • Replacement of recording solution
  • Voicemail upgrade
  • Removal of local gateways, currently used for fax

Challenges

  • Providing transparent upgrades and migrations for users and clients
  • Modernising a complex infrastructure with a large ecosystem
