Setec assists major industrial companies in the defence market through a range of activities: PMO for Naval Groupe, MBDA and Nexter.
In France, we have the industrial capacity to produce almost all the equipment needed by the armed forces to accomplish their missions.
However, the defence industry needs to transform in order to adapt to a radically changing world, and in certain areas it needs the technical expertise of engineering and efficient assistance.
Certain government bodies such as the DGA (Délégation Générale pour l’Armement), ( French General Delegation for Armament) are accompanied via a framework contract for systems engineering activities. Many of the Group’s companies regularly carry out studies and provide project management and assistance for quays, hydraulic systems, gate boats, docks and land infrastructure for the Defence Infrastructure Department (SID), which builds, maintains and administers the Ministry’s entire property portfolio.
Major programmes over the next few years include the development and construction of the future 3rd generation Nuclear Submarine Launchers (S3G) and the future New Generation Aircraft Carrier (PANG), as well as the design and construction of the PANG’s reception facilities in Toulon harbour.
