Strasbourg’s Palais de Justice restored to its former glory

 


 Representing both a major restoration and a new build, the Strasbourg High Court is currently being delivered, after works commenced in 2014. With its listed historical elements (facades, original roofs, entrance hall and corridors) restored to their former glory, the building has been expanded (from 9 000 m2  to 15 500 m2) and brought into compliance with public-access building standards. A new building in keeping with the original and a planted patio have been created. The new extension comprises eight new courtrooms and has been designed to optimize complex flows of people, with distinct entrances for prisoners, staff and the public. setec has been under contract since September 2011 for all the structural surveys, plumbing, HVAC, high/low-voltage equipment, and safety and security aspects. Architect: Garces – De Seta – Bonet Arquitectes Project manager: APIJ
