On the 15th of March, setec attended the opening of the Bus Operations Centre (COB) in Corbeil-Essonnes. The event was an opportunity to celebrate the arrival of the Tzen 4, a 24-metre, 100% electric, bi-articulated bus.

As operations manager for Île-de-France Mobilités, we are involved in the construction of the TZen 4 line, linking Viry-Châtillon to Corbeil-Essonnes, and play a key role in building the COB, which will accommodate further bus lines.

For the record, TZen 4 is :

  • An innovative rolling stock: a bi-articulated bus offering comfort and accessibility for the 140 passengers, air-conditioned and equipped to meet the needs of people with disabilities, as well as an electric motor with batteries recharged by ground contact directly at the station.
  • A high-performance line: with dedicated lanes, priority at junctions and a high frequency of service (a bus every 5 minutes during rush hour), ensuring smooth, fast journeys over 14 km and linking 5 communes.
  • Integrated into the over-all transport network: offering easy connections to the RER D, the T12 tram, the TZen 1 and 35 bus lines, as well as cycle parking spaces at each station. The new line is due to open at the end of 2024!
