The Government of Senegal wants to focus on the modernization and rationalization of rail transport and has launched the project of the new Train Express Regional (TER) line between the center of Dakar and the new Blaise Diagne International Airport. setec is involved in the design of the infrastructure and track in the Eiffage / Yapi Merkezy / CSE consortium and in the entire railway system (electrification, signaling, system) in the ENGIE / THALES consortium. setec in also in charge of scheduling, construction management and coordination. The mission is divided into 4 months for design studies, 22 months of work for the firm phase (38km of double track with electrified standard gauge, plus one or two metric tracks) and 15 months for the conditional phase (17 km double Electrified track). Under tight deadlines, setec teams face many challenges for this project. They need to make sure freight flows that are vital to the economy of the country and neighboring countries are maintained.
