This new  36,500 sq.m. concert center is located at the threshold of Paris on the Ile Seguin (11.5 hectare island on the Seine River).
The project was designed by the architects Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, within a PPP contract between the Hauts-de-Seine Department (Paris Region) and  the Bouygues Group.
The complex comprises 2 auditoriums, a hotel, stores, offices and gardens open to public.

Challenges

The first auditorium comprises a 1,500 seats and is dedicated to acoustic music. The building is a sphere made of wood and glass with a 45-meter-high exterior sail turning around it on rails and composed of 800 sq.m. of photovoltaic panels.
The second auditorium, the Grande Seine building, is a 2,500t metal framework (60m span) dedicated to amplified music with a capacity of 4,000 to 6,000 people (retractable seating system) and a garden above.
The entire structure is on a foundation composed of 800 piles (up to 22m deep).
