Lyon T3 tramway extension

Missions

setec is leader of a joint venture with other partners for the design and construction management of the new station Grand Stade comprising 4 platforms and a new tramway junction for the station.

The current T3 line passes near the site of the future Lyon stadium.
To effectively reach this stadium by public transport, the infrastructure for the third Lyonnais tramway has been adapted, while maintaining regular service.
The aim of this upgrade is for the T3 to transport more than 13,000 people every evening.
For supporters returning from matches, the carriages will be stored in advance and then injected into the tramway network, enabling a timely one-hour return journey.

Aside from the project management, setec is also responsible for:

  • Light signalling,
  • Road traffic studies,
  • Rail signalling,
  • Traction,
  • Real time passenger information system,
  • Ticketing system,
  • All low current systems,
  • Earthworks, networks and improvements, creation of roadways,
  • Bridges and engineering structures,
  • Preparation of regulatory documents.
