The French Government has assigned the constructor the task of modernising the Charles de Gaulle Aircraft Carrier and maintaining the vessel in Operational Condition, which includes a series of Major Technical Shutdowns scheduled from the launch of the vessel.
For Major Shutdown 2, the challenges for the French Navy are:
- To immobilise the only aircraft carrier for the shortest possible time,
- To obtain a vessel with new operational potential, adapted to the evolving nature of the Navy’s missions.
