By the end of 2018, the current Paris Bourse (stock exchange) building will house François Pinault’s collection of contemporary art.
Ideally located in the heart of Paris, near Les Halles, which is currently undergoing renovation, this sumptuous circular building is listed as a historic monument.
Its conversion has been entrusted to Tadao Ando & Associates, supported by a local architecture agency, Lucie Niney & Thibault Marca, and Pierre-Antoine Galtier, chief architect at Monuments Historiques.
The redevelopment of this 10 000m2 building is the latest in its long history.
Formerly a palace belonging to Catherine de Medici, before becoming a granary and in 1889 the Paris stock exchange with its magnificent metal dome (very innovative at the time), the building will now become a contemporary art museum, opening its doors to the public.
