On April 22, The Seine Musicale officially opened its doors to the public. Imagined by the architect Shigeru Ban, the magnificent building is an explicit reminiscence of the old Laprade façades that are often compared to an ocean liner sails whose photovoltaic panels follow the course of the sun and span over 280 meters. Setec was responsible for the design and project management and the structural aspects of this complex project. The Seine Musicale was built on the tip of the Seguin Island west of Paris by Bouygues Bâtiment as part of a Public Private Partnership (PPP) with the Hauts-de-Seine General Council and the consortium including Bouygues Bâtiment (mandatary), Sodexo, OFI Infravia, Tf1 for a period of 27 years from the date of delivery. Reinforced concrete, metallic framework, wooden structures, photovoltaic mobile sails are the strong points of this atypical piece of work. It houses two concert halls.
