Large bypass of Lomé

Missions

The Ministry of the Public works and Transport of the Togolese Republic has entrusted the consortium with the following missions:

  • Economic and technical studie,
  • Environmental and social impact,
  • Elaboration of the specifications for tenders on upgrading and paving works for the roads connected to the section Averpozo-Aneho,
  • Prefeasibility study of the large bypass of Lom.

The Togolese Government, by intermediary of the Ministry for Public works and Transport, with African Development Bank (AfDB) funding, intends to enhance the competitiveness of the Togolese products on domestic and foreign markets by reducing transportation costs and by improving the quality of the services offer which will allow it to facilitate the mobility of products and population and to contribute to poverty reduction in urban and rural zones. In order to accomplish these objectives, the government envisages the projects on construction, upgrading, reinforcement and repair of urban, rural, national and inter-states roads, as well as the projects on widening and twinning of major motorways providing access to the capital. The key priorities of this vast program are :

  • The twinning of the road Avépozo-Aného (section Lomé – Cotonou),
  • The twinning of the main road n°1 ( RN1) from Lomé,
  • The bypass of Lomé.
