catalan WIND FARM

Missions

In its construction supervision role, setec , with the support of a specialist electricity consultancy, produced design studies and bid documents, validated the construction design and monitored the work up to completion and service launch. In addition, setec assisted the owner in its relations with RTE, the French electricity transmission system operator.

The Catalan wind farm is located near Perpignan in the Pyrénées-Orientales department in the South of France. It comprises 35 wind turbines with a total capacity of 96 MW.

In addition to implementing the turbines and the collector network, the project included creating a 33 kV/225 Kv substation.

This substation, which increases the voltage of the electricity generated and delivers it to the electricity grid, is composed of two 90 MVA transformers, reactive power compensation equipment and a building housing protective and control devices.
