SYCTOM-EAU-ISSEANE

Design and Construction supervision – Improvement of ISSEANE’s firewater network

Missions

Assisted by Cyrus industries, setec énergie et environnement conducted the following tasks:

  • Technical due-diligence. Evaluation of potential solutions to be implemented
  • Selection of an adequate solution, providing the client with all the necessary details
  • Procurement process: tender documentation and evaluation
  • Construction supervision and monitoring
  • Acceptance of the works

ISSEANE is a waste treatment site located in Issy-les-Moulineaux, owned by SYCTOM and constructed in 2008. It includes a sorting center as well as an energy recovery plant. ISSEANE has its own firewater system, with firewater coming from a storage tank supplied by the Seine river via underground water pipes.
The facilities are subject to several malfunctions:
– Overpressure when the water pumps start, which causes the safety valves to open
– A drop in water pressure when the pumps stop, causing the rubber membrane of the accumulator tank to rip
– Heavy cavitation occurring in control valves, degrading the piping network and creating high levels of noise and vibration

Challenges

We simplified the fire protection network, working towards respecting the APSAD R1 European norm. By doing so, we improved the reliability and efficiency of the firewater network.
