Designing a high-tech transport system

With 27 stations, 67 km of dual carriageways, 4 connected antennas to the city center and Wi-Fi throughout the network, Montreal’s future Metropolitan Electricity Network will offer state-of-the-art services and reduce travel time significantly for the region. Being the fourth largest automated transport system in the world after Singapore, Dubai and Vancouver, it will connect the airport to the city center, providing a unified, efficient and reliably dynamic transport system. Part of a consortium with CIMA + and joined by HATCH and CANARAIL, setec characterizes everything necessary for the operation of systems and rolling stock, including in terms of exploitation. A key role focused on optimizing the system in a very constrained climatic environment, for this efficient fully automatic controlled network. This complex mission, commissioned for December 2020, holds major coordination challenges and a tight deadline.
