Strategic Climate Action Plan (SCAP) – Nice Côte d’Azur

Missions

We provided the following services:
- Assisting the metropolis in the development of the SCAP, taking into account its potential impact on the environment
- Reviewing, updating, and strengthening previous studies and assessments: CO2 sequestration, vulnerability studies, atmospheric pollutants, GHG emissions
- Conducting additional studies: GHG emissions (both direct and indirect) of the entire territory (by economic sector: industrial, agricultural, residential, tourism-related etc.), energy consumption, renewable energy production, energy distribution networks
- Assessing the potential to reduce emissions in all sectors (transport, energy, waste, building...)
We successfully carried out this assignment under a tight schedule (3 months).

Nice Côte d'Azur had to update its Strategic Climate Action Plan in 2019. Nice Côte d’Azur is a metropolis located in southeastern France and created in 2011. It regroups 49 municipalities and 538 769 inhabitants, including the populous city of Nice. The Plan aims to guide the metropolis in its energy transition. It includes an assessment of the current situation, an action plan, and a monitoring scheme. An environmental assessment needed to be conducted prior to its full implementation.
