Grand Paris Express

Missions

setec has been involved on the Grand Paris Express since the early days of the project idea, feasibility studies, alignment and station positioning decisions.
When the project entered operational stages, setec was appointed as designer and construction manager of several infrastructure sections (line 15 south west, line 15 west, line 14 south for the Société du Grand Paris and the western extension of RER E “EOLE” for SNCF Réseau) including underground stations, tunnels and ventilation shafts, maintenance center (Aulnay).

setec is or has been also committed in several expertise area such as geotechnics, scheduling and overall project management.

The Grand Paris Express project includes creating a new high-capacity automatic metro bypass. By 2030, this 200 km network with 68 new stations will link Paris to different strategic centers in the Paris region: urban centers, business centers, international airports and high-speed train stations.

The objectives of this project include:
o Improving everyday transportation
o Boosting economic development
o Supporting a new planning policy
o Bring certain areas out of isolation
o Contributing to environmental protection

Challenges

– Overseeing the infrastructure for Eole, Line 15 (South-West) and Lines 14 (South),

– Providing geotechnical assistance for Lines 16 and 18,

– Designing systems for Lines 15, 16 and 17 in partnership with Egis,

setec was also appointed in 2016 to design Line 15 (West) and the Aulnay-sous-Bois technical center.
