Creation of a new line between Dakar and Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD)

Missions

Setec is providing integrated project management for the design and construction consortium for the new Regional Express Train (TER) line project:

  • Piloting the entire project management consortium and coordinating the project work packages (civil engineering, re-establishments, footbridges, stations, halts, buildings, track, energy, catenary, signalling, rolling stock)
  • Conducting the detailed preliminary design studies for 55 km of double track, the Thiès railway branch (22 km of double track, including 25kv electrification and ERTMS 2 signalling)
  • A mission to determine the overall lifecycle costs of the project
  • Management of internal and external business interfaces
  • The OPC mission during the design and works phases
  • The VISA for the execution studies
  • Assistance with drafting the temporary operating and safety regulations (RTES)
  • Assistance with works acceptance operations
  • Static and integration tests

“The project involves creating an electrified double track between Dakar and AIBD airport, with a first section as far as Diamniadio (38km) and a 2nd section as far as AIBD (17km). The project also includes the rehabilitation of the metric track between the port of Dakar and Sébikotane (41 km), and the construction of 3 stations and 8 intermediate stops, as well as a maintenance and storage site (SMR) with a control and command post (PCC) and an infrastructure maintenance site (SMI). It will serve 14 stations on the route between Dakar and AIBD in 50 minutes at 160 km/h, with a capacity of 500 and 1000 seats depending on the type of train.
