After a competitive bidding process, Airbus has awarded its programme and project management services to the consortium led by PLANITEC (SETEC Group). The transnational consortium will address PMO (Project Management Office) services as preferred supplier. PLANITEC will cover the French and German markets, while AERTEC Solutions will address Spain and the UK.
Preferred supplier for project and programme management services
PLANITEC, the project management specialist and AERTEC Solutions, the engineering and consultancy firm specializing in aeronautics, have just signed a new contract with Airbus making them preferred supplier for project and programme management services, known as PMO (Project Management Office). These services include, among others, the deployment and application of project management processes, methods and tools. The wide scope of services notably embraces planning and scheduling, cost control, risk management and above all : project steering to meet the targets. The partnership formed by PLANITEC and AERTEC Solutions participated in a competitive bidding process which, for the first time, was aimed at covering PMO services for the entire AIRBUS organization. Both partners will support the management of programmes and projects, principally for Airbus Operations (which includes their civil programs), Airbus Helicopters, Airbus Defence & Space and PAG, in all countries (France, Germany, Spain and the UK). 
Participating in Airbus transformation plan
AERTEC Solutions is the only Spanish company that has been named preferred supplier to Airbus in PMO services out of all the contracts awarded, although it has previously offered these services to Airbus in the aircraft manufacturer’s plants in Getafe and Seville. One of the main challenges of this contract is to unify the working formula of all Airbus suppliers, uniformly and objectively. In this regard, the experience that both AERTEC Solutions and PLANITEC have as partners in the development of PMO services represents an important advantage when participating in transformation plan that Airbus wants to carry out.
