The context: The future Tram T12 will link the towns of Massy and Evry, providing local services to 12 towns in the Essone region.

The project includes:

10 km of new infrastructure (urban section) and 11 new stations;
the reuse of 10 km of the RFN (used by RER C) and 5 existing stations;
the construction of a maintenance and storage site at Massy;
and a large number of related operations (access, intermodality and various facilities). The main objectives are as follows:
- Meeting travel needs by improving inter-communal links;
- Encourage a network approach and modal shift ;
- To support the sustainable development of the region (development opportunities, particularly around the new stations)
