
Creation of a 1 000 km railway cargo (mainly mining) and passenger network for the central Guinea corridor. The project also includes a new port or an extension of the existing Conakry port (study variants).
The project provides infrastructure that :
- Encourage the potential mining activity for which Guinea is one of the richest worldwide.
- Contributes to allowing access to Central and Upper Inland Guniea and the sub-regions neighboring Mali.
Based on the traffic studies the following studies will be carried out :
- Different scenario design
- Line operation program definition (tonnage testing, speed and operational design and rolling equipment characteristics, train station and siding implantation)
- Railway operations study
- Railway and Port technical Feasibility studies
- Environmental Assessment
- Investment Estimation
