The Government of Madagascar carried out a Tender call for a 28 years public concession financing the design, development, operation, and upkeep & maintenance of the Ivato and Nosy Bé airports.
The preliminary Works starting in Ivato in 2016 comprised :
- Creation of an aircraft apron
- 450m² extension and rehabilitation of the Presidental Pavillon (currently 525m²)
- Creation of 2400m² carpark Works in Ivato (1.8M pax 2030)
- Construction of a 17 500 m² new international terminal over two floors
- Renovation and conversion of the current international terminal into a domestic terminal
- Stregnthing of the 3100m long tarmac taxiway Works in Nosy Bé (.3 M pax)
- Renovation of the current 7800m² terminal
- Renovation of the current taxiway
- Upgrading of the airport infrastructures
