The Aix Marseille Provence Metropolis must seek a diversified energy mix and a balance between local control of energy (municipalities, citizens, etc.) and the emergence and development of industrial sectors. Coordinated, high-performance networks are also a key condition for the development of renewable energies: capacity to accommodate local production, coupling between production, consumption and storage, control of usage and load shedding. The involvement of the Metropole should enable support for innovation in the field of smart grids for the benefit of users, the delivery of the most appropriate energy for each use and the inclusion of all local production on the grids. The challenges are commensurate with the potential, making it possible to combine economic development and energy transition, and to define a metropolitan strategy for energy networks and production.Cities & territories
