As UK Nuclear Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for pursuing the opportunities, developing the relationships, and expandingour presence in the UK nuclear engineering market, to grow the UK business and realise our ambitions.


Votre mission


Your responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a nuclear business growth strategy.
- Conduct detailed research into new nuclear markets and into customer needs (predicting clients’ future aims/objectives and future projects),
- Generate leads and prospective business in relevant markets.
- Upsell to existing clients where appropriate.
- Develop and maintain excellent and long-term relationships with existing and new clients.
- Develop and maintain excellent and long-term relationships with existing and new business partners/potential partners.
- Increase company visibility within the nuclear market, by (for example):
o Managing memberships with appropriate industry organisations.
o Preparing involvement in key industry events.
o Arranging meetings with prospective clients and partners.
- Organising industry events and meetings with key business stakeholders.
- Prepare/update marketing documents and presentations
- Participate in project/contract negotiations (with clients and partners) alongside with the project teams
- Prepare projects contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
- Provide trustworthy feedback and continuing “after sales” support to clients following contract award.

What we are looking for:
Setec is looking for someone who will thrive in a dynamic environment and can work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including the Setec senior management team, to deliver new nuclear business opportunities in the UK.
Essential skills and knowledge:
- Good understanding of the UK construction, nuclear, and engineering markets.
- Good understanding of business operations and contract law (particularly in a UK context).
- Excellent people skills and personable nature.
- Wide ranging network of contacts within the UK (nuclear) engineering industry.
- Experience liaising with clients and high-profile stakeholders, and building rapport, lasting trust, and strong professional relationships.
- Proven track record in prospecting and achieving sales/business, particularly within the engineering sector.
- Experience responding to calls for tenders and preparing bids.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and report writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-cultural team.
- Ability to work autonomously at times.
- Resilient attitude with respect to competitive bidding environments.


Desirable skills and knowledge:
- Experience working as an engineer at a senior level, as an engineering manager or as a project manager.
- Experience working in a nuclear environment.
- MSc/MA/BSc/BA in business administration, sales or another relevant field.
- Project Management Qualification (PMP, APM or similar).
- Chartered with a relevant organisation (e.g., ICE or IStructE).

Additional information:
A high level of proficiency with English language is required for this role.
French language ability would be a plus.
